A Parameter-Free Method for Estimating the Stator Resistance of a Wound Rotor Synchronous Machine

This paper presents a new online method based on low frequency signal injection to estimate the stator resistance of Wound Rotor Synchronous Machine (WRSM). The proposed estimator provides parameter-free for estimating resistance, in which there is no need know values parameters machine model, such as and rotor inductances or flux linkage. In this method, sinusoidal current injected d axis produce stator. paper, it shown that phase difference between generated related mismatch. Using difference, estimated. To validate model-free estimator, simulations were performed with Matlab Simulink results compared extended Kalman filter observer. Finally, experimental tests, under different conditions, WRSM.
